Project Scientist/Geologist

KOMAN Government Solutions has an immediate need for a seasoned Project Geologist/Scientist to support our operations. Assignments will typically be related to one or more of the following: project plan preparation and permitting; site investigation, environmental monitoring and multimedia sampling; remedial action implementation; and maintenance activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Planning and Execution

  • Lead and support project plan preparation.
  • Identify and prepare permit applications.
  • Assist with identifying and procuring the necessary equipment, materials, and subcontractors.

Field Investigation

  • Lead, coordinate, and/or support field investigations/sampling events.
  • Collect environmental samples and field measurements.
  • Ensure project plans and associated safety and quality control requirements are implemented.
  • Oversee subcontractors.
  • Maintain field forms and other documentation.
  • Summarize data and assist with technical report preparation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in engineering, geology, or related science.
  • 2-8 years of relevant work experience.
  • Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.
  • Current OSHA 40-hour training for Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) or ability to obtain before commencing employment.
  • Ability and willingness to undertake frequent overnight travel to project sites (estimated 50% on average).
  • Ability to work overtime when required.
