Financial Reporting & Planning Manager- Federal Contracting

Location: Anchorage, AK

The KOMAN Family of Companies is in search of a career minder FR&P Manager with Federal Government Contracting experience in Anchorage, Alaska (Hybrid Work Schedule).

As a Financial Reporting & Planning Manager, you will be responsible for preparing our consolidated financial statements with footnotes, work closely with our external auditors, lead the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) process, and prepare various budget to actual reports for executive management and Board reporting. Additionally, as the Financial Reporting & Planning Manager, you will be required to carry out ad hoc analysis as part of your responsibilities (e.g., analysis of allocations, indirect cost rates, etc.)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead project to automate the consolidated reporting process.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, variance analyses, long-term planning, risk/opportunity assessments, and periodic/ad hoc reporting.
  • Partner with the accounting team during the close process by assisting/preparing eliminating journal entries, reviewing departmental general ledgers and providing P&L and cash variance explanations to budget and forecasts.
  • Serve as a finance liaison to departments, working closely with them to understand their business, support their initiatives, and address general financial inquiries.
  • Identify and research variances regarding forecast, budget, and prior-year expenses.
  • Conduct necessary account and system reconciliations.
  • Collaborate on corporate projects and initiatives that impact the entire organization.
  • Review financial reports, presentations, and other management reporting needs.
  • Provide ad hoc business reporting and analysis as needed.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CPA or CMA required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required.
  • JAMIS Accounting or Business Planning and Reporting system experience preferred.
  • 5+ years' experience in consolidated financial statement preparation, planning, financial analysis, public accounting, and/or consulting.
  • General knowledge of accounting/financial/operational principles
  • Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with various management levels
  • High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
  • Superior attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the big picture
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Self-starter with good time management skills when urgent deadlines need to be met
