KOMAN Construction is currently seeking a dedicated and self-motivated professional to apply their skills and experience as a Construction Safety Officer to support the CBP Project in Del Rio, Texas. The incumbent must be able to pass the military background check to gain access to the base.
All construction sites are generally prone to accidents and thus safety at the construction site cannot be compromised.
This position has the difficult task of ensuring workplace safety, using thorough knowledge of all laws and regulations concerning construction and site safety. The main responsibilities are supporting and providing direction to both Site employees and the Construction Manager on Safety matters, taking the lead to identify and correct if required, any hazard assessments or provide safety training if lacking, hosting safety meetings with subcontractors and vendors that are on our Construction Sites.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb ladders or stairs; use hands to type, finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and get in and out of vehicles. The employee is frequently required, sometimes for extended periods, to walk, stand, or sit. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The employee must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently. Visual acuity requirements include color vision, depth perception, close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus, all of which may be necessary to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment, determine the accuracy and thoroughness of work, prepare and analyze data and figures, investigate small parts or defects, and review materials for extensive time periods.
The employee will be subject to both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions; hazards, such as moving mechanical parts, working on scaffolding and high places, etc.; atmospheric conditions that affect the respiratory system or skin; and narrow passageways and other areas that could cause claustrophobia. The work environment and worksites may include construction sites, job site trailers, offices, or other locations. Noise level is generally moderate to high. Work often requires work boots, safety goggles, and hard hat. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, however hours can fluctuate depending on project needs to include evenings, nights, and weekends. Travel to construction worksites and business meetings will be required. Travel will entail overnight stays with some including multiple nights away from home.
